Goodbye Anon, I wish I never knew you

Is everyone else having as much trouble as I am with anonymous spam comments? I finally got so tired of it I changed my settings this morning to "registered ID users" only. Before this I hesitated because I know there are people without blogs who occasionally comment here, but not often enough to make it worth the aggravation of multiple deletions that I have to do daily. It's gotten ridiculous. So I apologize to those who can no longer comment but I hope you understand my frustration and forgive me :) It would be nice if blogger had a better spam filter, but until something like that comes along I'm limiting access.

I'm starting to feel left out - I never get them! Wonder what the difference is...

Count yourself blessed Christy! I think it has something to do with "key" words in the titles because it seems to always be on the same posts. It's not like every post is getting anonymous comments, but certain posts keep getting them again and again and again...

That's the setting I use - & I've only had one person complain about registering but eventually he just went ahead & did it so he could comment. And I don't get spam anymore.

By the way - having to register to comment on blogs is what got me started blogging - I felt so left out that my little profile was so empty. Heh.

Totally agree, I get them every now and again, but not very often...

I don't get that many yet, but they do always come through the same title. I'll have to think about that one.

That's weird ...I get NO spam in my comments from this Anon...
but I do get some of my comments from regular commenters and they go to my spam box in my yahoo acct.
It is random too. Sometimes their comments will be sent straight to my inbox and sometimes they go to spam and it is never the same person.
So..It's like a surprise in my mailbox everyday.

I know it is frustrating for you-- your readers will understand.
And if they really want to say something important they could just email you, right?

have a great week.

I did the same thing, for the same reason you did. I got so sick of seeing that spam. It took care of it though!

time to move to wordpress. :)

I used to get them, but then I stopped blogging regularly. That seemed to help on the spam, but doesn't help my blog much overall. :)
